Manavi Castle
Passengers traveling from Tbilisi to Telavi will see ruins on the left side of the main road, on a high mountain after Sagarejo, these are not only ruins. This is a historical monument; the castle was built by King David III of Kakheti. The castle is in ruins, but even a wall once protected Heret.

In 2017, archeological excavations were carried out on the half-hill of the Manavi Castle, where it was found to be very interesting and everything that indicates that the castle was built before there was life in the area. The castle was built in the 12th-13th century.
In the 18th century, it became the fortress of David II, the same David Memkul. It was also a political center in Kakheti for a period.
