Qobtavi Church.

Qobtavi Church.

Church, an architectural monument above (north-west) village Paldo of Sagarejo municipality, about 1.5-2 kilometers, in the forest. Belongs to Vlll-lX centuries.

It is a three-nave basilica, however, it differs from this architectural type of the church building with its own, original solution. The length of the church is so short that the outline of its plan is a square (8.7×8.7 meters).

Large, not very cleanly smoothed sandstone is used as building material. The stones are of uneven size and irregular shape. They are stacked without selection, which is why straight rows are not formed in the stack.

It is heavily damaged: the roof covering of all three naves and a significant part of the outer piers have been removed, the ends of the longitudinal walls of the middle nave have been destroyed. Trees are growing on the roofs of all three boats.
