tower
Tower, archit. Dr. It stands on a small hill called Koshkisgori, 7 km south-east of the city. It probably dates from the 18th century. The plan of the tower is square (7.75×7.75 m). On the outside, in all four corners, there are rounded edges, gradually narrowing upwards. The tower is built entirely of cobble stone and lime. The surface of the walls is smoothed from the outside with pure plaster. Inside, the walls are without plaster. It is badly damaged. On the entire length, only east. The middle part of the wall has been destroyed, only small parts of the rest of the walls remain. The tower appears to have been three-storied. Its upper floor would be open, finished with shingles.

The roof between the floors of the tower was made of wood (post sockets have been preserved). The surviving walls of the first floor of the building do not show any traces of openings. It is certainly possible to say that it had no door from the east. In the middle of the eastern and northern walls of the second floor of the tower, there is one window narrowed to the outside.
The remaining walls of the third floor of the tower, any archit. If there is no trace of the combat element. An obelisk stands near the tower, erected in 1901 by the Tsar’s Russian government in connection with the 100th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Nyakhur (Kakabet). A large marble slab with a Russian inscription (now lost) was inserted into the obelisk. The tower is an interesting example of a defense structure. A similar, but slightly larger tower in the village of Telavi municipality. It is at the end of Kisishkevi, on the side of the road leading from Gurjaan to Telavi.
